The Shack

These resources are for my friends who I have recently had discussions with over the content of The Shack. I hope you find it more helpful in understanding some of my concerns with Young and his presentation of the Trinity.

This clip is Pastor Mark Driscoll:

The quote that I found most challenging was, "A book is written and Christians run to its defense and it is teaching Modalism, goddess worship and graven imageism... and Christians lack the discernment to even see it as a problem, but sell it to the multitudes." This is not what the Trinity is. The correct teaching of the Trinity is one God in three eternal coexistent persons: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

If this video leaves you with further questions I recommend an excellent review by Tim Challies which you can read here.

Abortion Resources

Justin Taylor over at Between Two Worlds has been posting numerous links to all sorts of resources on the topic of abortion. Basically I am ripping him off and reposting them here. I would just tell you to go check out his site but he updates it so often that by the time you get there these posts may be relegated to the archives section. Anway, here are some helpful links on "The Case for Life"
By John Piper, Lincoln’s Logic on Slavery Applied to Abortion
By Edward Whelan, Senate Testimony on Roe v. Wade
By Robert P. George, Our Struggle for the Soul of our Nation
Joe Carter posts Four Reasons You Might Be Aborted: An Open Letter to Fetal Humans.
Robert George, Hadley Arkes, Francis Beckwith, and other leading public intellectuals have assembled a new website, MoralAccountability.com, to keep track of President Obama's opposition to pro-life policies.
Very interesting site for my Black friends, BlackGenocide.org

Here is a great little promo video from Norma McCorvey the Jane Roe of Roe v. Wade.

You can watch more videos like this one at Virtue Media.

Snow Day

It's the first snow of 2009, and the first snow I've seen in a long time! I think we have about 3 inches here. I get the luxury of staying home since they closed my workplace and I'm getting to watch a bit of the Obamamania on tv as our 44th President is inaugurated today. It's hard to believe there are about 3 million people in the capital today.

Thomas has been traveling for the past 8 days to Prague and Senegal preparing for a trip this summer. This is the longest we've been apart since we got married. I'm excited about picking him up from the airport today. I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.

David and Renee left last week after being in the states for a month. It was sad to see them go, but at least I get to see them in April when I go for my visit. Enjoy the pic of our house in the beautiful snow!
