Most people that know me well know I'm pretty crafty. Well my grandma Houser taught me to crochet when I was about 6 years old and somehow I've never lost that knowledge! Anyways I love looking at craft blogs of other ladies that make cool things. The other day I ran across a post with this bright granny square quilt.

That really inspired me to pick up my crochet needles again and see what I could do. I went out and bought some bright yarns, looked up some tutorials online and got started. Here's what I have done so far...

I'll have to make a LOT of squares to make that blanket but I think it'll look really nice if I can accomplish it! I was pretty proud of myself for being able to follow a pattern for the first time. Usually I only go back and forth thus producing scarves and maybe a hat or two. If you're interested in downloading the pattern for the blanket you can find it here. There's also a Flickr set of other people's blankets here. It's so much fun looking at people's color combinations!

Also, I scored big time tonight thanks to Craigslist. I got a whole box of maternity clothes from a nice lady in Cary who happened to be my size and height, for only $36! Now I'll finally be able to wear some pants that actually fit. :)

Wow...you got a great deal on those maternity clothes, that's great! I LOVE the blankets! I used to know how to crochet and wonder if I still could pick it up...always looking for new crafts! Not that I need anything like that where we are in India but still...fun to do! We want to see the finished product when you get it done!
