Back to reality

My maternity leave is officially over. No more lazy mornings sleeping in with Judah. No more afternoon feedings, burps, naps, diaper changes, coos, smiles, drool to wipe off of his chin, kisses, hugs....sigh. It was so much fun while it lasted. Life with a newborn has been easier than I expected. The first few weeks were surely tough, waking up to feed him every 2 1/2 to 3 hours and trying to get him to reverse his backward sleep schedule. We had lots of help so that made life a LOT easier – thanks to my mom and Renee. He's been held by more people than most babies are in their entire first year of life and we've traveled around the state and to the beach, twice. Then we hit 8 weeks and life got a whole lot easier. He started sleeping through the night wahooooo! Life is good. After having a baby everyone says that you can never imagine loving someone so much and that you can't imagine life without them. It's true. So tomorrow I return to work. Back to reality.
